Wavy Locks

Sue and I ride home from work in the afternoons on the Downtown Express bus and I saw her sportin a beautiful wavy locked hairstyle this week. After harassing her about how she did it, she shared the creative plaiting formation and I went home and immediately put about 20 plaits in my head after spritzing with Carol's Daughter Leave in Conditioner. I usually french braid my hair but I tried the plaits for the first time, woke up the next morning, took them out and I loved the finished product.

You can see Sue's a lot better than mine in this pic but wow.......I received so many compliments on the wavy look. It was so quick & easy!

Just another style I thought I'd share, passed on from Sue!

Creyole,

This looks very nice. I like it alot! Can you explain a little more how you did it. When you say (plaits) are you talking about 20 individual (braids)? Also, what did you do to your ends? Did you roll, put rubberbands...???

I am not quite clear how you did it and I would like to try it. When I do my braid-out, it doesn't look wavy it looks overly curly, with a tight curl when I first take the braids or twist out. I would like to try the looser wavy look.

Creyole, I'm luvin' this look! Ironically, I did something similar within the last few weeks. I have pics and will post soon. But again, mine didn't turn out half as cute as yours and Sue's. You know TRA and I will have you in a corner demonstrating for us when we see you in Waco!

All,
Chosen Vessel/All,
Yes, I guess it would be called the braid out. I usually braid my hair in about 8 - 10 french braids but the results are completley different.

After folling Sue's instructions I braided at least 20 - 25 single plaits (braids to some) and that was it. Took them down and this is the result.

Blaqkofi, yes please do share pics your your braid out style.

Both of you look great. The crimps are deep and appreciable. I've tried this several times before with minimal success, but recently did it and sat underneath the dryer and 5 days later most of the crimps are still evident. I must admit I got tired of braiding, but the best crimps occured where I took the time to make smaller braids. Something I expect will be easier as my hair get longer. Thanks for sharing your technique.
